A couple of weeks ago, we took our toddler to see her very first movie in theaters. Trolls was the pick! We figured it would work out perfectly, lots of colours and songs.... so why not?

We stocked up on snacks and headed out for the 11am viewing. It went great. Our daughter who is turning 4 in January sat through pretty much the entire movie. Granted for some of the songs, she got up and danced. Good thing we sat at the very back of the theater. Our daughter enjoyed it and so did we. I could have done without the 3D viewing, but it was the earliest option.

I just finished doing a review of the movie over at Geeks and Geeklets site, where I also write. It should be up sometime this week, and when it is I will link it in this post.

Overall the movie outing was fun. We will definitely do it again. For any parents who haven't seen Trolls, it was worth watching. So keep your eyes open when it's released on DVD. It's full of colours, and lots of Trolls, which are funny and cute. One has a glittery butt, and another poops cupcakes... what more could you want?!

Have a great week everyone!
It all started when I felt like I was coming down with a cold, while at work. I had to call in for Friday, by Friday night I couldn't get a full breath. First off I chalked it up to being my asthma. ( I've had asthma since I was a child ) . Around 4am Satruday morning I decided to go to the hospital, because it was only worse when I was laying down, and my inhalers were not helping.

By then my Ventolin had increased my heart rate, and it felt like it was racing, on top of not being able to catch a full breath. Once I got into emergency, I got right in. They gave me two breathing treatments, and told me that it was just my asthma, and the upper respiratory I had just brought the attack on. Normally I'd believe it; however this time, it felt different. Any asthma attack I've had in the past ( 3 to count. My last one was seven years ago) did not feel how I was feeling at that time.
The breathing treatments didn't help, I was still short of breath and wheezing horribly. The doctor, gave me a prescription for prednisone and told me I should feel better once I get home, also that he wasn't going to subject me to chest x-rays.... hello dude I don't feel good. I felt like shit, so I let it go and left.

The rest of the day I couldn't do much, walking small distances put me completely out of breath, and by 7pm Saturday night, my husband drove me back to the hospital, because I still couldn't get a breath and then my ribs started hurting anytime I took a breath. We got in right away, and thankfully got a new doctor, who sent me for chest x-rays and gave me a stronger breathing treatment. He came back after my x-rays and told me that I had an pneumonia. Which when I look back, it makes total sense. I didn't feel good at all and wasn't thinking. They gave me antibiotics, a new inhaler and prednisone and sent me on my way.

By 4am Sunday morning, I could sleep comfortably, and it was glorious. I was completely exhausted by then. I had to take a week off work ( my pneumonia was contagious ) and I needed to take it easy.

I got to spend more time with my daughter and actually be home to tuck her in at night.Up until two weeks ago I had never had an pneumonia. They suck, and I'm glad I went and got looked at.

The one thing I did take away from being that sick was that I need to slow down. I need to take time to spend with my family and for myself and enjoy it more often. I need to let all the other stuff from work, and other little things, take the back seat. So maybe it was a blessing in disguise.
I'm also back from a bit of a break from everything. I keep disappearing for a while, to recoup. Life just gets in the way sometimes and can be a bit overwhelming.

Autumn is by far my favourite time of the year.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and the leaves are changing. Maybe it's the time of year, but I find that autumn always brings me back down to earth. Yay for enjoying the season!
Pumpkin spice everything, apples, pumpkins, and pumpkin carving, sweater weather and going for nice walks without sweating buckets. My kind of thing.
I had my first official pumpkin spice Frapp from Starbuck's the other day. My husband calls fall pumpkin spice season.... on this he is correct.

Enough about my excitement for fall, onto updates on what's been going on lately.
Our daughter is turning 4 in January... where has the time gone? We started potty training a couple of months ago. It's an ongoing battle, ( might I add, my husband has been doing most of the hard potty training ) I'm so grateful for that, since I'm always working. Our daughter has picked up going on the big potty instead of her toddler sized potty. I know, you all really want to hear about this. Hah!

A while ago I mentioned that our daughter started going to speech therapy. I think it's been about a year and a half of it. There was a gap of time where she wasn't attending, due to the speech therapist wanting to wait until September and then reassess her. I have a love, hate relationship with this. Long story short, we took our daughter back for a reassessment and we had a new speech therapist ( who was condescending and a little rude. ) Our daughter is a bit behind with words, and sentence structure, but it's a work in progress. She's had almost two weeks off from her appointments, and they start up again next week. Her speech has improved greatly, and we are working daily on her sounds, alphabet and numbers. She'll get there, I know she has it, just needs to pay attention to what she's doing. She gets so excited sometimes that her words turn into a big mumble jumble. I'm so proud of how far she's come from a year ago though. My little pumpkin.

I've been blogging for Geeks and Geeklets as well, in my LOA from blogging here on my own blog. I've been posting recipes, book reviews, etc. I enjoy it and love the Geeks and Geeklets community. Head over and check them out. There's plenty for geeks, all around.

I have gotten back into reading lately, and didn't realize how much I missed it, until I started taking a book to work during my breaks. I'm currently reading Kushiel's Dart ( one of my close friends favourite series ) so I thought I'd give it a try. I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and have a list of others I can't wait to start, Including : MaddAddam, The Hunger Games ( guilty pleasure), NeverNight, Throne of Glass, Why Not Me?, Furiously Happy, and more. What books are you currently enjoying?

Legion has been released, so I have been leveling and gearing my main toon in World of Warcraft. This Sunday and Monday that just passed was our first night back to the raiding grind with my guild, in the Emerald Nightmare. I'm currently loving this expansion, it's so pretty and there are endless things to do.

What have you guys been up to the last couple of months? Anyone else playing Legion and loving/ hating it? Thoughts?

I was lucky enough to receive full sized samples of Head and Shoulders Instant Cooling Relief Shampoo & Conditioner from BzzAgent. #GotItFree . I choose this one, because during the winter months, my scalp gets itchy and and little warmer than usual and that pesky dandruff comes back. The other choices were : Instant Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner or Instant Oil Control Shampoo.
I figured the Cooling relief would come in handy and I love the smell of mint. So the Head and Shoulders Cooling relief promises to:

" cools on contact, delivering relief from itching in a snap. The combo is
formulated with peppermint oil and tea tree essence and keeps hair
visibly flake free*. They’re gentle enough for everyday use, even on
colour or chemically treated hair. *With regular use"

I don't usually use Head and Shoulders for the simple fact that it usually makes my colour fade, and fast. My husband uses it, regularly and it works wonders for him. I was excited to receive this product and test it out. I use it twice a week now. Both the shampoo and conditioner. I LOVE the scent of them. The Peppermint and Tea tree are really noticeable, but not overpowering. I started to notice results probably after 2 uses, which impressed me. Every time I use it, I leave it on my hair for a couple of minutes. Works wonders to keep the pesky flakes at bay.

My only complaint, would be that for MY hair, I feel like the conditioner doesn't moisturize and kind of leaves it feeling dry afterwards, so I do mix in some of my regular conditioner with the Head and Shoulders, just so my hair doesn't feel dry afterwards. Otherwise I like this product a lot. It leaves my scalp feeling cool and smelling like peppermint, and so far I don't have dandruff anymore.! I will definitely be keeping this product in my hair care routine to keep dandruff away for good. It also helps that it's available at all Shoppers Drug Marts around me.

Overall this product does the job it says it will. For me and my husband at least. It gets rid of our dandruff and leaves my scalp feeling fresh and cool. Thumbs up for Head and Shoulders Cooling Relief Shampoo and Conditioner and a huge shout out to BzzAgent and Shoppers Drug Mart.
I was hesitant at the beginning to try these products due to the fact that I have very sensitive skin. Most products either dry my skin out severely or make it break out. #BeyondHydration #5Works

They are in order in the picture above. As follows 1.Ultra Soothing Micellar Water. 2.Ulra Soothing Toner. 3. Ultra Soothing Moisturizer.

Micellar Water:

Alright so this product states that it :Removes Make-up, Softens, Illuminates, is easy to apply and irritation free. Are all of these true?
It definitely removes make-up. Multiple times I have done my foundation and the whole works... come home and put some of the micellar water on a cotton make up pad and wipe all my makeup off. No water needed. It does soften my skin. It makes my skin feel super soft and clean. It's easy toapply and it does NOT irritate my skin. I use it every day and I love it.
The downside to the micellar water ( keep in mind this might just be me ) but I find after a while it has an odd smell to it. Anyone else notice this?

Ultra Soothing Toner:
It claims " It removes impurities and leaves skin perfectly toned and soft to the touch"
The toner is probably by far my favourite toner I have ever used. It's gentle, it smells great and it has a somewhat cooling effect to my face. It is a soft gel consistency, and goes on smooth with a cotton ball. This also leaves my skin feeling soft. Thumbs up for this L'Oreal. I use this every day as well.

Ultra Soothing Moisturizer:
"Non greasy formula with omegas and ceramides, provides 24 hour moisture.Soothes, replenishes, softens and comforts skin, for softer and more supple looking skin."
The moisturizer is probably my second fav out of this trio. I don't need that much of the product, only about a nickel amount. It doesn't make my hair feel greasy in the slightest and it has a great scent to it. It's light and keeps my face moisturized the whole day.

Overall I'm very impressed with these products from L'Oreal. They are gentle on the skin and leave my face feeling super soft, without the breakouts. It is my only skin care routine now. Once I use these products up, I'll be repurchasing them for sure.

I can't believe it's 2016 already! 2015 flew by. Christmas 2015 was great! Our daughter was surrounded by family the whole time and I actually got to enjoy 4 whole days off, it was fantastic.
On January 3rd our little girl turned 3. We just had a small get together with close family with cake and gifts. Needless to say the holidays were exhausting for her, because there was so much going on pretty much every day. There were a couple of meltdowns... We all enjoyed it though, and it was a much needed little break.

I had every intention of getting this post out on the 1st... I really did, but because of Christmas my work schedule has been all over the place. It's finally starting to go back to my normal days.
This will be my New Year's resolutions, I know, I'm sure everyone is doing them, and eventually a lot of us fall off the wagon and don't stick to it. I'm going to try my darnedest to stick to it this year!

First resolution: is to Be a better mom. Sometimes I get so wrapped up with work and always having errands to do on my few days off, that I forget to sit down and just enjoy my daughters company. This year I'm going to give her all the attention I possibly can, and stuff at work can wait.

Second: I'm going to start taking a step back and not get so worried about things. (Try not to anyways.) I'm going to try to relax when I am home and just enjoy the day off with my daughter and husband.

Third: I'm going to blog more! Yes that's right, put more posts out, do more giveaways, all the good stuff. I actually have a giveaway planned to start up in a couple of days! So keep your eyes out.

Fourth: I'm going to get back to eating healthier and working out. I did so good last year up until about July, and then I went back to snacking on crap snacks and didn't do it in moderation. Which left me feeling tired all the time.

Fifth: I'm going to read more. I have a stack of books that I have just set aside and it's driving me crazy, I'm going to finish them and many more this year.

So here's to a new year! What are your New Year's Resolutions?
I personally am one who absolutely LOVES pumpkin spice flavoured treats. They are my favourite. I don't usually post recipes; but I thought I'd post these, since I made them the other day and they were pretty delicious.
I believe that I first saw the recipe on Buzzfeed's Facebook.

What you'll need: 1 tube of Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 small can of pumpkin pie filling
large marshmallows or 1 cup of small ones

First you'll want to preheat the oven to 350.

Then open tube of Pillsbury Crescent rolls on a greased cookie sheet ( lay out )

Next you want to put a tablespoon of pumpkin pie filling onto each crescent roll, along with a couple of marshmallows.

Then roll them up and close the ends.

Put in oven for 10-15 minutes ( until golden brown ).
Let cool for 5 minutes

Enjoy!

These are fast and easy, and don't require that many ingredients. Perfect to bake with your little one, and are tasty too.
Here on my blog and in game ( World of Warcraft ). It's been busy. I'm working all the time, and on my stretched out four days off I always have things I need to get done. The usual as everyone else. Groceries, errands, laundry, my husbands visa, the list goes on. Some days it seems to be never ending and something new always pops up. I still haven't mastered this multi tasking game of balancing everything with work, but I'm trying to get there.

Lately I've felt like when I'm not at work all my time needs to be spent with my daughter. I miss her so much when I'm at work even though I'm only 15-20 minutes away. She's growing up so fast and I can't slow time down or freeze it. She is now doing one of the most adorable things I think I have seen, I caved in and bought her Frozen a couple of weeks ago, and she knows the words and movements to most of the songs. It's crazy that she learned them so fast.... the things little minds accomplish.

We've also been working towards my husbands visa, it's gonna be a while.... feels like forever, but it's worth it. Lots of paperwork and money, and time.

In the World of Warcraft life, I have only been logging on during raid nights, to raid.... I haven't felt the need to log on any other time, which makes me sad because we used to play WoW a lot. Now it's basically for raid, or if something is going on in guild. I've just got wore out from running our guild and on my days off I don't want to deal with it. The past couple of weeks have been a nice break. We ended up cancelling our raid the Sunday and Monday that just passed, due to myself and our MT being sick. Sometimes it's good to take a step back.

We've also added two new members to our family, we ended up getting our daughter two Guinea Pigs. We understand that she is young, and a lot of parents would through a fit about it. She loves them though, and she's even started saying " Good Girl ", to them. They've grown on us as well. We ended up naming them Tinkerbell and Fawn from one of her favourite movies, Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast.

I've also started playing Rift.... not that much but just a bit when I get the time, it's a nice break from WoW as well. I'm hoping today they finally drop flying, that everyone has been waiting for. I haven't even achieved the pathfinder achievement yet, as the dates of it being released have kept changing. Plus when I work all the time I don't have time to grind out things like that or dailies anymore, like I used to, unfortunately.

I've rambled enough for today, it's a good start for a small update, so I hope everyone has a great day in the real world and Azeroth.... or whichever gaming worlds you enjoy :) Azeroth Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09294305955138718493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6413313957304512848.post-40278140017286024392015-06-30T06:54:00.002-07:002015-06-30T06:54:57.864-07:00What I think of Patch 6.2 and Giveaway! We all know that last week Blizzard dropped Patch 6.2 upon us, after what feels like a very long wait time.

Which meant NEW content! I personally was super excited to have new content, as I and my guildies were getting burnt out on the same daily grind of garrison missions,.... and no progress towards flying.( I'm not really going to go into flying; but I will say that I'm glad there is compromise for it, a meta-achievement required and rep to FINALLY get flying back.... makes for a happy camper.)

After months of waiting for this patch, we got Tanaan Jungle.... about time. How do I feel about the new zone?
First off, let my start by saying that I'm not that far into the dailies in the jungle, as I just haven't had that much time between work and everything else going on. My first couple of rounds through Tanaan, left me feeling like it is basically Timeless Isle amped up. Dailies, plus rare spawns for gear, achievements etc. I feel like so far there isn't much story, but again I'm not that far into it, so only time will tell. From what I've read, there is story....I'm assuming it's gated behind the numerous dailies and campaigns, and unlocks gradually..? Correct me if I'm wrong. The Objective Hubs are interesting, and the treasure hunting is always a cool find, I mean who doesn't love toys and pets, right?

The Shipyard
I finally realized why there is that exit gate out of the back of our garrisons that lead to cliffs.
The shipyard is nothing spectacular,... just another hub of your garrison, but with ships instead of followers. I finally got mine to level 2, and now have submarines. Getting extra gear/runes, and treasure is always a bonus as well. I also love the little names that they come up with, one in particular on my Guardian Druid, was " Bad Juju", how fitting.

The Adventure Guide

This is the updated version of the Dungeon Journal, which I am in love with. I like the fact that it offers you things to do, and let's you join groups/ ques right there. Makes it painless and easy.

Bonus Events
The Bonus Events system consists of a rotating schedule of seven different activities, currently scheduled to run from Friday through Monday of each week.
As a guild leader I really like that Blizzard added these bonus events into game. Makes more things available to us on the weekends, and allows guildies to spend more time with each other.
Timewalking Dungeons
Love, love, love these! It was like a blast from the past, but with decent gear drops. They are a nice change of pace, and were fun to do, I look forward to running them on my alts, next time they are up for a weekend.

Armor Preview

I'm not exactly excited for many of these... they just seem lackluster. The druid tier isn't half bad, but the hunter ( for my GL toon ) is aweful! To each his own though.

New Pets and Mounts
This is another thing that I'm super excited about, the new pets and mounts available through the factions in Tanaan. I want to collect the rare pets:

Periwinkle Calf
Zangar Spore
Seaborne Spore
Nightmare Bell

The Legendary continues

The legendary questline.... I'm glad that it's continued, and I'm slowly getting there. I WILL finish the Legendary this expansion... I kind of slacked off on the legendary in MoP. My bad.

Hellfire Citadel Raid

Having a new raid is nice. Our guild got started late in this expansion for raiding, due to things happening with team, and we've been beating our heads against certain bosses in BRF. It's time to move on and go forward. We went into Hellfire last night, and WOW. The new bosses look pretty awesome, and it's fresh. Something to look forward too. I will update on this section once we get further in the raid.
There are some things I haven't touched on, but that would lead into a very long blog post. Overall I'm enjoying this patch, there has been a lot of love/hate in the past week since it was released, but it's decent and having new content makes it better... the wait we had for it though, kinda sucked.

What do you guys think of Patch 6.2? Love it? Hate it? Discuss

I'm also doing a giveaway if you enter with the rafflecopter below, and follow the instructions.
I'm giving away a mount worth $25 off the Blizzard store for WoW, of winners choice. Choose a MOUNT .
I have been MIA on here for about two months. Things at work got crazy for a bit, with doing midnights and overtime; but have evened out. A big change, is I got my full-time that I applied for at work, so I've been trying to juggle family, with full-time, plus all the side errands and of course raiding with my guild Emphatica in World of Warcraft.

Now that I feel like I've gotten a handle on the work, and juggling act, and making time for .. almost everything, I can finally free up time to blog again, and get back to weekly posts.

So this is just to update, our little one is speaking more and more every day. She amazes me all the time. She finished her first block of speech therapy a couple of weeks ago, and now doesn't go back until early fall. She still has her play groups every Wednesday and Fridays with her little trips to Tim Hortons afterwards... since the weather has been more like summer lately, she gets outside, a lot. She loves going on walks with her dad, and she even makes it around the block....well half being in her wagon, walking, or being carried on dads back. You know, toddler style, the only way to go.

In World of Warcraft, my guild Emphatica-US on Dawnbringer, has been slowly but surely progressing in Black Rock Foundry. Gruul, is pretty much on farm, Hanz and Franz is a little messy near the end, but they will soon be on farm as well, and we've got Beastlord to 9%. Our biggest thing holding us back is not having more DPS. I'm hoping that with new content, people will be more interested in joining guilds to progress....instead of using LF group finder.... that's another topic for another day though.

Which reminds me, my guild IS recruiting, follow me on Twitter and send me a DM, if interested, I usually have all my info on there multiple times throughout the week.

Sorry for such a short update, everyone, oh and before I forget my husband is turning thirty in two days. The big 3-0! I'm gonna bug him the rest of the year lol.

I will be posting an entry tomorrow morning which will include my World of Warcraft Mount giveaway.

I want to enjoy 6.2 tonight, so that is why the entries won't start until tomorrow. Here's a heads up, to enter, it will involve Twitter, and a question/ discussion about 6.2.... be prepared!

Have a great night everyone, and I'll see you in Azeroth, until tomorrow!Azeroth Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09294305955138718493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6413313957304512848.post-10526654878343952912015-04-22T16:18:00.003-07:002015-04-22T16:20:13.089-07:00Liebster time
Needless to say it's been a while since I've updated. Where have I been? I've been busy that past couple of months, between first and foremost, my family, work, and of course my guild/raid team.

So here are updates on everything.

Our daughter is two yrs and two months old. She spoke her first word at 6 months of age and continued babbling on since then. At the moment she speaks fluently in toddler gibberish, and says only few and select words clear as day. About 9 months ago our doctor suggested that we put her on the waiting list to see a speech therapist, because at that time of only being over a year, according to our doctor, our daughters vocabulary should have been more extensive. Now I understand that all doctors try to follow charts and guidelines, and set out steps of milestones of what a baby, toddler, child should be doing at certain ages according to our government/ health care guides and what not.... that being said, I also know and strongly believe that each child is completely different and learn, reach milestones on their own time. However as it was a suggestion, we took our doctor up on it and got our daughter put onto the waiting list. Eight months later we got a call and set up an appointment to meet with the speech therapist.
The meeting went well, we thought and our daughter picked up on the therapist pretty fast, interacting with her and such. We went over how she isn't putting words into sentences, but she is very smart. She uses her hands and understands what we are telling her, she follows directions; however she gets frustrated when she can't effectively verbally communicate with us. Long story short the speech therapist told us it was okay and we could make her appointments bi-weekly, to try and get her talking more. The letter we got a week later said otherwise, it basically told us that she should be using at least 100 words and putting them into sentences, and suggested a hearing test, which we will have to get a referral from our doctor for, and drive two hours for it. ( She passed her last hearing test with flying colours and there were no worries) I guess they just want to rule it out as a possibility. Also that we need to enroll her in daycare or play groups..... if the therapist had of been listening to us then she would know that we take our daughter to play group every Wednesday and Friday, which she absolutely loves! Found out that her appointments are weekly now too. I would have been fine with this if we were told up front and when we were there, it just frustrated me that we were told one thing, and then the letter said something completely different. However with that being said, we are taking her to her appointments, as it is to help her, and this way if there are any problems we can catch them. Better safe, than sorry...right?

We've also just gotten over the lovely Norovirus ( Norwalk Virus ) that I unknowingly brought home from work. ( Joys of working in healthcare ). So the last week, we've all just kind of been getting over it, and slowly getting back into our daily routines.

In World of Warcraft, myself and my fellow officers/guildies have been trying to get our raid team back together, and finally getting back to normalcy, within our guild. We've pretty much switched our raid team up and are trying to get a good rhythm going with everyone. I can't believe that this expansion we're having a hard time finding reliable and decent DPS!? Who would have thought?
Also, speaking of WoW, I have to say, when I heard about the new Game Tokens that will be implemented, I personally am excited for this. For the simple reason of, people who have a hard time buying game time due to cut backs or budgets, etc this will give them a chance at keeping their game time up,.... as long as they have gold in game lol. Thoughts on the WoW Token?
Here's the most recent link about the WoW Token, I know there are a lot of mixed feelings about this. Let's discuss. :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!Azeroth Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09294305955138718493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6413313957304512848.post-42694978850573977962015-01-06T14:00:00.001-08:002015-01-07T05:07:09.276-08:00Things I Love about Warlords of Draenor.Yup, a post about what I'm currently loving in Warlords of Draenor...... PLUS my first giveaway. ( Which will be at the end of my post. )

I'm sure everyone has their own likes and dislikes in Warlords, just like in any World of Warcraft expansion, but just for the heck of it, I'm going to share things in the current expansion that I personally love.

1. The cinematics .
For some reason this expansion has really got me into the story line, and the cinematics make it that much more interesting. Blizzard has always been good at doing them in expansions, but the current ones are .... I guess I could put it, emotional in a way. Especially with the whole Garrosh and how far he's fallen. I realize there are probably other cinematics that I haven't seen or have skipped that are just as great, but these ones stand out to me. The new character models really allow Blizzard to portray the emotion of the story in a way that they previously couldn't do.

2.Garrisons
Some people have a love hate relationship with garrisons, ( one being my husband ). I enjoy them. I like the fact that you can customize them ( to a certain extent ), with specific buildings for your professions, and how you can have guild banners displayed proudly. Also eventually you can display monuments around your garrison, with the achievements you have. Some of my favourite buildings in my garrison are : The Barn: I love being able to trap something and take and put work orders in, then a while later, have feasts for my raid team/ guild bank, without the pain of having a ton of mats in your bags.

The second building that I love is the Stable: I like collecting mounts, and I like that they can walk around in the designated area. Perfect for my Blood Elf hunter.

3. The Quest Lines.
Specifically the Arokkoa quest line, and the Elemental one. I love the story of how the Arokkoa came to where they are, and the mini quest where you get to play as one, and get his point of view ( forgive me, I forget his exact name ) It just felt fresh, like something I haven't done before, and I thought it was carried out well.

Then the Elemental line. Again to me it felt like something new, brought back a little bit from Cata ( or the feel of Cata for me) and was interesting.

4. The Dungeons
I love most of the dungeons, the new, look and feel. They are challenging and make you pay attention, like the good old dungeons did. You have to watch where you stand, and interrupt, and they look pretty awesome too. My favourite is Auchindoun

Lastly............... my FIRST ever giveaway!
Didn't make it feel very much like Christmas.
Our daughter is a very spoiled little girl, she ended up getting a lot of gifts, and was very well behaved.
Her main presents were an electric toy car, and an art easel. She also got, a pony set with a barn, puzzle blocks and shapes, colouring books and crayons, Tinkerbell dolls, Tinkerbell clothes and pjs. A Frozen nightgown, a Disney princess sitting chair, The Fox and the Hound dvd, some Princess reading books, as well as a couple of outfits. She loves everything, but prefers her easel and car most days. That will change in a week or two. ;)
Our little munchkin doing her thing, at her new art station.

I'm very happy that our daughter had a great Christmas, and loves all of her gifts. ( she also received some gifts from her uncles and aunt and her grandma early, she got outfits, that she won't take off ( we're in that stage now ) and bath markers which she will not let go of during bath time, a Buddha board, and a couple other gifts, and a Tinkerbell Build-A-Bear. She was a very lucky little girl.
I most thankful for my family.... you guys know who you are! Our daughter and of course my husband, we've all been very lucky.
Speaking of which, our little girl turns TWO in 2 days.... I can't believe, so after work tomorrow I'll be running around trying to get her birthday gifts in order. As for New Years we were in bed and sleeping by 830pm, that's a party haha.

How many of you have little ones with birthdays so close to Christmas and New Years? Do you buy them separate gifts?

Happy New Years everyone! Here's to a great 2015!
Pumpkin Carving from Halloween and Play Group.

I got the bright idea that pumpkin carving with our toddler would be fun. I forgot to factor in the little hissy fits throughout the day though. Our daughter is right around the corner of 2, and the tantrums have begun.

We ended up buying a small pumpkin to decorate and a larger one to carve. Our daughter loves Tinkerbell at the moment, so I went online and printed off some Tinkerbell stencils.
We ended up choosing this one:

We got the newspaper all layed out on the floor and everything ready, our toddler and I marked the stencil onto the pumpkin and then it was carving time! I figured it was new and our daughter would explore the weird texture of the pumpkin seeds and goop inside the pumpkin..... thought it would be fun and we could watch her expressions as we cleaned the pumpkin out.... I was wrong. She grabbed a small handful and wiped it on my sweater and proceeded to have a mini meltdown, until she wanted to go to her room. So my husband carved the pumpkin and this was the end result :

I think my husband did a pretty good job for our munchkins first pumpkin.

We ended up taking our daughter out trick or treating for two hours. She went as Rapunzel off Tangled.... so cute! She got a bucket full of candy and then her great aunt made her up a Halloween bucket ( with Timbits, and a pillow pet and chocolates. )
It's safe to say she had a good Halloween, she slept that whole night after getting home.

Now for play group.
At our daughter's last check up a month ago or so, our doctor suggested we put our daughter on the list to see a speech therapist since she's only saying a handful of words. ( She understands us, she is extremely smart and outgoing, just she chooses her words lol.)
I got her name on the waiting list... of 8 months.
I started looking into some things and came across a local play group, that is 15 minutes from our house, and it's free! Wednesdays and Friday mornings. Drop ins welcome.
We were both hesitant at first, but figured "what could it hurt?" This way maybe she'll open up, and talk more being around other kids her age.
She loves play group. The new toys, the other toddlers, she loved it. They have snack time around 1030 ( which is right around her nap time ) so the first couple of times she had meltdowns. The last time was good though. It's also something they can go to when I work.
She sits at the table for snack now with the other kids and drinks from a big girl cup... I know it's the little things that make us parents happy.
She ate most of her snack yesterday at it ( snacks are also included ), and she came home saying a new word " uh, uh, uh, uh, oh!!" It's so adorable.

While we are on the wait list for the speech therapist, we are going to try play groups and see if she's talking more by the time her appointment rolls around.

*Here's Hoping*

I have a post about what we did for our anniversary ( which we did on Wednesday, since we took our little one out for Halloween, but that will be done later ).....; however I wanted to celebrate my husband just a little bit. I don't think I do it enough and oh does he deserve it for putting up with me.

So I'm going to tell you a couple of things about my husband that I love about him and that make him even more amazing to me.

1. He goes grocery shopping and runs errands with our daughter, to take things off our to-do list or give me some quiet time, after work or when I'm stressed out. Also, he does it with EASE, our daughter is so relaxed when he takes her out.

2.He's an AMAZING stay at home dad/father. He makes staying at home look easy, and I know it's not. Stay at home is a full time job +more, with no sick days and he NEVER complains..... not even once.

3.He cooks. Yup, that's right. He can grill like nobody's business and can cook some mean tuna steaks as well... or just about anything that's put in front of him.

4.He watches Bones, and Greys Anatomy with me, and doesn't complain... and he enjoys them!
( He'll watch just about anything I ask him to. )

5.He cleans... and does laundry ( and folds and puts away the laundry )too.

6.He's a great listener. After a crappy day at work or just being stressed, I can talk to him about anything and the world seems to melt away.

7. He's handsome, those eyes and that smile, melt me.

8. He's caring and compassionate.

I love my husband and I look forward to many more years with him. I don't tell him enough, but I appreciate you and everything you do for our family, I need to tell you more.

Thank you for being the amazing husband that you are.

Azeroth Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09294305955138718493noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6413313957304512848.post-70018182823336596812014-09-25T13:12:00.000-07:002014-09-25T13:12:43.741-07:00Garnier Fructis Color Shield ReviewI'm a member of Influenster, and have been for about two years.... I think. Most recently for their Voxbox program I received a box of FULL SIZE Garnier #ColorShield products. To be more specific, the shampoo, conditioner and the oil (shine spray ). I've heard about the product, but never tried it until Influenster sent it to me. Comes in handy since I dye my naturally red hair an even darker shade of red..... which sometimes fades rather fast.

Why do I dye my naturally red hair...? I dye it a darker shade of red, because the finished product just looks more vibrant and I prefer darker red on me over my natural colour. The only problem with having a more vibrant shade of red..... is it fades, and no one wants a dull shade of red.

Red hair... where to start, I don't wash it as often which sometimes can lead to it looking greasy. Ugh. Hot water, and styling products ( Hair straightener and blow dryer) definitely threaten how long the desired colour lasts.

Color Shields quote : "Want colour that stays bold & brilliant? Seal & protect fresh
colour for up to 10 weeks with Color Shield Complete Defense. Protection
against heat, water and sun."

I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, and I've noticed that it isn't fading as fast as usual. It also doesn't leave my hair feeling weighed down at all, and smells amazing! We'll see how it holds up at the 10 week mark.

The Color Shield Shine Shaker says : "Formulated with camelia seed oil and acai berry extract, our unique
technology defends freshly coloured hair against heat and nourishes to
extend shine and softness."

So far I'm loving this shine oil. It smells great as well and definitely adds more shine. So far I'm impressed with this product.

I'd say that these products do help with locking my colour in, and keeping it shiny. I'd give them my "shield of approval".
I'm ecstatic to finally have a logo and header to call my own. I had been looking for months, and contacted many artists.... all were talented, but when it came to providing a look and feel of what I was looking for, I wasn't happy with any of them...... until I came across Taylor! My husband followed him on Twitter, and mentioned I check him out, because he had recently done the logo for one of our favourite podcasts that we listen to The Sundering. I checked him out on twitter and then went to his deviant art, and fell in love with his work. The style, was EXACTLY what I had been looking for. I contacted him, and received a response almost immediately, I described the logo design that I had in my mind and Taylor set to work.
Let me just say that he is AMAZING to work with. He gave me updates and showed me the logo as he went. He was extremely patient, and understanding..... ( It's not always easy to describe what you visualize and then have someone draw/design it.) After he finished my logo, and sent me the finished product, I was super psyched! It was everything I wanted and more. He brought my idea to life, and I couldn't be happier with it. He then started on my official header/logo, and after receiving it once it was finished...... I was over the moon excited to see it. The baby murloc added in, was genius and my husband and I were very happy with both finished products.
Taylor is an extremely talented man, and I'm so happy that I came across him and his work, and even happier that he took on this project for me. I can't thank him enough! He made my vision a reality, and I look forward to working with him again.

I asked Taylor a couple of questions and figured it would give everyone a little bit about him. He's a great person to get to know and work with. After the Q & A's I will post all the links to his Twitter, Deviant Art, etc. Definitely check him and his work out and give him a follow!

Introduce yourself:

Alright haha, so basically in short I am an
aspiring artist working on living my dream to one day work for Disney. I
went to college for game Design and digital entertainment where I
received my bachelors degree at ITT Tech.

How old were you when you started drawing?

I had started drawing around the age of 3 or 4.
I use to watch my grandma draw all the time, she was like a Human photo
copier with charcoal pencils. She's the one that introduced it to me
and taught me a lot throughout growing up.

What is your favourite thing to draw? Least favourite?

Well, I'm really all over the place when I draw, I would probably have to say humanoids of my own personal designs are my favourites; because when I'm the one designing them I don't feel like I'm following a blueprint and I can exercise my imagination.

Who or what is your biggest motivator?

I would have to say, my girlfriend Spencer Driscoll, who has pushed and supported everything I do and my love of creating new characters and art.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now? 10 years?

In 5 years I see myself established with a company doing concept work or animations. In 10 I'd like to be working with Disney and possibly writing a book.

Now go and check Taylor's pages and art out. Send him a follow too :)
*Keep your eye out for a giveaway I'll be doing in the next upcoming weeks, I'll be working with Taylor again and some lucky person out there will have a chance to work with him as well.Azeroth Mommyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09294305955138718493noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6413313957304512848.post-23518394459158088212014-07-09T07:14:00.003-07:002014-07-09T07:14:35.678-07:00What I've been up to in World of Warcraft.I've been thinking about doing this entry for weeks, but up until the last couple of days I haven't had much playing time. Lucky for me, on my couple of days off, my husband keeps our little one busy, so I can get some playing time in.

In my opinion, at the moment, WoW is in a lull.... a lot of people are getting bored with the current content, waiting for Warlords to drop and it's only in Beta. So what do I do to keep myself interested in World of Warcraft?

Lately, when I log on, I take care of guild stuff first. My husband and I have our own guild called Emphatica ( Yes it's a Dark Tower reference ) on the Dawnbringer server. Horde side. We've had our guild going on four years now. Like everything else in WoW though, our guild is in a lull. Many players are bored with content, and enjoying the summer.

I've been doing dailies for my Cloud Serpent mount. Yup, finally getting around to doing them, even though most people have one... or all of them by now.

Isn't he cute ?

I've also been trying to gear my Guardian Druid ( pictured above ) I absolutely love tanking on her, and I've been trying to finish LFR SoO. I only have Garrosh to get, and then I can move onto Flex. I've got her item level up to 516, and still climbing.

The other day, I noticed also when I logged in, that there was a valor buff, so I qued up and started working on my Legendary cloak quests again. Yeah, I'm late getting to the Legendary cloak too. I'm at the quest part where I need to have 3000 valor..... it seems to take forever, since there's a 1000 weekly valor cap. :/ Dear Blizz, I think you should take the weekly cap off, just so people can get their Legendary cloaks. Lol. JK.... kind of.

I've actually been paying attention to the story line, that Wrathion tells..... which is new for me, since questing isn't one of my favourite things to do.

I took that picture, just because it looked pretty cool, having Thrall, Garrosh and Sylvanas ( my favourite ) all together.

The other thing that I have been doing, is taking Warbringer's down, for the chance at the mount and because I wanted a Brawler's Guild invite. I ended up buying one off of the AH, and am only on level 2 of it. It's something new to keep my interest in the game though, until the new expansion. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Pictured above is my husbands main and mine. These are the two characters that we met each other on, years ago. That was when we were farming the Warbringer's.
"A couple who plays together, stays together."

What have you been doing to keep interested in WoW lately? Leveling alts..... grinding the rep and quests for Legendary's? Starting toons on different faction sides?
It has a kind of shimmer to it, but once you rinse it off, it does not leave any residue. I love the smell of this product. It is clean smelling and reminds me of a spa. I used it on my feet and legs, and I have been very impressed with this product. Definitely a product to keep around. I enjoy using it on my feet after a long shift at work.It made my feet feel soft, which is great, since in the summer my feet get really dry.

The Friend Zone Soundtrack. I'm guessing this has game theme music? Adventure theme music? I haven't listened to it yet.

Adventure Time Tin Mystery Pack- I really like this little tin. I got a gameboy type looking figure in it, ( our daughter instantly snatched it up and has been playing with it ever since, it's a win in her books too )

MineCraft Hangers- We got, what I'm assuming is a pig? I'm not really into the whole MineCraft game, so I'm not familiar with the figurines.
Bottle Opener- This is one of my husbands favourite items from this month's Loot Crate. It is kind of heavy, and feels like good quality. It was instantly attached to his key chain. *shocker*
Custom Zelda T-Shirt- This was my husbands absolute favourite item. He is a huge fan of Zelda, and put it on right away. ( He let me take a pic first lol ). Impressed with this item and the bottle opener.
This crate was by far the best Loot Crate ( In our opinion ). To subscribe click HERE. I hear that there may be another t-shirt in June's Crate. I can't wait!

I've been having a bit of writer's block lately, so I thought, why not do my Liebster entry? Perfect time to do so. Ashleemae from Willfully Disobedient nominated me. ( Go check her blog out, you won't be disappointed! )

Thank you Ashleemae!

Now for the fun part:

1. Thank the person that nominated you and link to her blog.

2. Answer your nominator’s ten questions!

3. Share the love and nominate 10 other bloggers.

4. Think up ten questions for your nominees.

5. Let everyone know you’ve nominated them!

Ten questions from Willfully Disobedient (and my answers):

1. What inspired you to blog for the first time?

Being a first time mom, inspired me to blog. I had a lot of questions, and I wanted to find other women who were first time moms, ( parents ) as well, that I could relate to.

2. Who is your biggest blog supporter?

That's an easy question. My biggest blog supporter is my husband. He is always cheering me on, and tweeting about my posts. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have kept going.

3. How do you make time to blog?

Honestly, I'm still struggling to make time to blog regularly. Even though we've had our little one for a year and a half now, I'm still learning the ropes, along with time management.

4. Is there a topic that you absolutely WILL NOT blog about? Why?

Yes, there are a couple of topics that I absolutely will NOT blog about. Religion, and Politics. I was taught at a young age, that those two topics are not something to publicly discuss. Why? They open too many possibilities. If it could always stay as a civilized conversation, it would be different, but there's always that one person who takes it too far, or starts accusing. Better safe than sorry, I say.

5. What is your favorite comfort food, ever?

That's a tough one, there are so many! I'd have to say that my favorite comfort food would have to be Little Caesar's bread sticks with pizza, Monsters, and of course chocolate. ( Yes, I know so unhealthy).

6. You have exactly one hour of childless, significant other-less,
obligation-less free time. How do you spend that time (anything your
heart desires). What if you had a whole day?

A whole hour..... I'd probably play some World of Warcraft. Yes I'm a nerd at heart, and it's how my husband and I met, so it stays close to us. A whole day? Probably shower, work out, play WoW and then feel like I'm missing another part of me,.... which is usually what happens.

7. What is one thing you would do for your blog if you had unlimited resources?

One thing I would probably do for my blog if I had unlimited resources would be to have my own custom logo made up.

8. What is your goal for your blog?

The goal for my blog, is to reach as many parents as possible. To eventually have deep conversation posts about how to juggle everything with your family. I'm still learning, so I have yet to do an entry like that.

9. Please link to your 3 absolute favorite blogs (yes, I’m stealing this question from my nominator!).

Top 3.... I love so many.

Mama Needs Mana - I came across this blog a bit ago. I absolutely love her posts! They are witty and come from a fellow mother and World of Warcraft player ( nerdy momma ). Check her out :)

The Prairie Mama - She hasn't posted in a while, but her posts are so honest and refreshing with some great humor thrown in there. She's also a first time mother.

Boldly Fit With Amber - She has the perfect mix of exercise and parenting all rolled into one. I find her blog very motivating.

10. When you’re following (or subscribed to) a blog, what is an absolute deal breaker that makes you quit reading immediately?

An absolute deal breaker for me when I'm subscribed to another blog, that would make me quit reading it, would be once they start bashing others publicly. That's not right at all.

Here are my ten nominees:

Boldly Fit with Amber

Mom's the Word

Coming Up Pink

Mama Needs Mana

The Wondering Brain

Mrs Tee- Love, Life, Laughter

Mrs. AOK, a Work in Progress

MommiFried

Ambitious Mommy

Thrifty Nifty Mommy

Here are my questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?

2. If you could trade shoes with your spouse/significant other for one whole day, would you? Why?

3.Do you have a YouTube channel? Why or why not?

4. What age gap do you think is perfect between children? Why?

5. Did you have a hard time transitioning from working to stay at home parent? What were new challenges for you?

6.If you had a whole weekend to just yourself and spouse/significant other, how would you spend it?

7.What is your favorite social media outlet and why? ( Yes I stole this from my nominee's, nominee.

8. How do you juggle parenting/ working/ blogging?

9. How do you choose topics to blog about?

10. What are your favorite topics to blog about? Why?

I look forward to reading all of your responses. :)
We have a busy Mother's Day weekend, my cousins wedding is tomorrow afternoon, and Mother's Day is Sunday.
Update: I'm still on my weightloss journey, I keep meaning to do an update about it, but always get side tracked.I've started doing 30 Day Shred along with my shakes, and I'm seeing results!

Easter weekend was good, minus everyone getting sick. We bought a cute Easter dress for our daughter to wear, but she ended up getting severe diarrhea, for a couple of days so we just let her lounge in a diaper and onsie. We kept her full of fluids, since she wouldn't eat, (except for crackers). We did have a small egg hunt in her bedroom the morning of.
We ended up getting her one of those play houses that go outside, but since the weather just started getting nice out, my husband set it up in her bedroom. :) She's in love with it. She also got one of those small toy bins/seats. Disney Princess version, she's in love with that too, and somehow gets herself in the small storage boxes.

I took a couple of pictures.
Oh I almost forgot, my husband had an awesome blanket made for me, and got me a " We love mom" pillow ( So cute ). It was supposed to be for our anniversary, but it took a bit longer to make than expected. I love it, and I can't believe he got it done. He always comes up with the best surprises.
First article in the mini mag. The History and Folklore Behind the Mythical Beast.
It gives a bit of history behind dragons and tells about an anthropologist and author of the book An Instinct for Dragons by David E. Jones.
In this month's crate was:

Elder Scrolls Online Exclusive Figure.
This figure was made just for Looters! I thought this was pretty awesome, that it's specifically for Loot Crate subscribers.
Game of Thrones Mystery Mini
I got the White Walker. They were random for everyone and I think there were 16 different ones. :/
Dragon Jerky
Harcos Labs and Loot Crate Labs
This jerky was a cool idea, it was green in colour ( I'm guessing to look like dragon hide ) claims to be High in protein - low in danger"
My husband tried it because he's the jerky fan, and he hated it. He said it tasted chalky and bland and ended up throwing most of it out. :( Cool idea, but it wasn't for us.
Dragon Shield Screen Cover
I'm guessing this is a phone screen cleaner. I haven't used it yet, but that's what I'm getting from the description.
20 Sided Stress Dice & a 20 sided Polyhedral Dice
The stress dice will come in handy for World of Warcraft nights lol.
My husband can have the polyhedral dice for Magic: The Gathering.
Dragon Slayer Tag and exclusive Dragon pin
I was excited at first glance about this dragon tag, but upon further review of it, to me it feels cheap. Kind of like a prize you'd get out of those 25 cent machines.
*SIDE NOTE*

The following is my opinion only: I was super excited about this month's Loot Crate theme when I first heard about it. Once I received it however I was actually kind of disappointed. I was expecting more DRAGONS. There was an article in the mini mag, that could have been replaced by info on the author of the book mentioned on the first couple of pages.
To me, it should have been a Game of Thrones and Elder Scrolls Online theme. With all of the dragon lore and influence in the geek and gamer culture, I felt like they should have been able to include more things specifically about dragons. ( Like Smaug, or popular dragons, Dragon Heart, Dragon Magic Card, etc.)
I'm disappointed with this month's crate, however I'm looking forward and hopeful for the next Crate.

I realize that not all items will be favs for everyone.... just my thoughts.
I still love Loot Crate :)
