Toddlers First Movie Experience.
A couple of weeks ago, we took our toddler to see her very first movie in theaters. Trolls was the pick! We figured it would work out perfectly, lots of colours and songs.... so why not?
We stocked up on snacks and headed out for the 11am viewing. It went great. Our daughter who is turning 4 in January sat through pretty much the entire movie. Granted for some of the songs, she got up and danced. Good thing we sat at the very back of the theater. Our daughter enjoyed it and so did we. I could have done without the 3D viewing, but it was the earliest option.
I just finished doing a review of the movie over at Geeks and Geeklets site, where I also write. It should be up sometime this week, and when it is I will link it in this post.
Overall the movie outing was fun. We will definitely do it again. For any parents who haven't seen Trolls, it was worth watching. So keep your eyes open when it's released on DVD. It's full of colours, and lots of Trolls, which are funny and cute. One has a glittery butt, and another poops cupcakes... what more could you want?!
Have a great week everyone!

Trip to Emerg
That's right, a trip to Emerg almost two weeks ago. It all started when I felt like I was coming down with a cold, while at work. I had to call in for Friday, by Friday night I couldn't get a full breath. First off I chalked it up to being my asthma. ( I've had asthma since I was a child ) . Around 4am Satruday morning I decided to go to the hospital, because it was only worse when I was laying down, and my inhalers were not helping.
By then my Ventolin had increased my heart rate, and it felt like it was racing, on top of not being able to catch a full breath. Once I got into emergency, I got right in. They gave me two breathing treatments, and told me that it was just my asthma, and the upper respiratory I had just brought the attack on. Normally I'd believe it; however this time, it felt different. Any asthma attack I've had in the past ( 3 to count. My last one was seven years ago) did not feel how I was feeling at that time.
The breathing treatments didn't help, I was still short of breath and wheezing horribly. The doctor, gave me a prescription for prednisone and told me I should feel better once I get home, also that he wasn't going to subject me to chest x-rays.... hello dude I don't feel good. I felt like shit, so I let it go and left.
The rest of the day I couldn't do much, walking small distances put me completely out of breath, and by 7pm Saturday night, my husband drove me back to the hospital, because I still couldn't get a breath and then my ribs started hurting anytime I took a breath. We got in right away, and thankfully got a new doctor, who sent me for chest x-rays and gave me a stronger breathing treatment. He came back after my x-rays and told me that I had an pneumonia. Which when I look back, it makes total sense. I didn't feel good at all and wasn't thinking. They gave me antibiotics, a new inhaler and prednisone and sent me on my way.
By 4am Sunday morning, I could sleep comfortably, and it was glorious. I was completely exhausted by then. I had to take a week off work ( my pneumonia was contagious ) and I needed to take it easy.
I got to spend more time with my daughter and actually be home to tuck her in at night.Up until two weeks ago I had never had an pneumonia. They suck, and I'm glad I went and got looked at.
The one thing I did take away from being that sick was that I need to slow down. I need to take time to spend with my family and for myself and enjoy it more often. I need to let all the other stuff from work, and other little things, take the back seat. So maybe it was a blessing in disguise.

I'm Back.
Good news, it's officially AUTUMN! I'm also back from a bit of a break from everything. I keep disappearing for a while, to recoup. Life just gets in the way sometimes and can be a bit overwhelming.
Autumn is by far my favourite time of the year.
Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and the leaves are changing. Maybe it's the time of year, but I find that autumn always brings me back down to earth. Yay for enjoying the season!
Pumpkin spice everything, apples, pumpkins, and pumpkin carving, sweater weather and going for nice walks without sweating buckets. My kind of thing.
I had my first official pumpkin spice Frapp from Starbuck's the other day. My husband calls fall pumpkin spice season.... on this he is correct.
Enough about my excitement for fall, onto updates on what's been going on lately.
Our daughter is turning 4 in January... where has the time gone? We started potty training a couple of months ago. It's an ongoing battle, ( might I add, my husband has been doing most of the hard potty training ) I'm so grateful for that, since I'm always working. Our daughter has picked up going on the big potty instead of her toddler sized potty. I know, you all really want to hear about this. Hah!
A while ago I mentioned that our daughter started going to speech therapy. I think it's been about a year and a half of it. There was a gap of time where she wasn't attending, due to the speech therapist wanting to wait until September and then reassess her. I have a love, hate relationship with this. Long story short, we took our daughter back for a reassessment and we had a new speech therapist ( who was condescending and a little rude. ) Our daughter is a bit behind with words, and sentence structure, but it's a work in progress. She's had almost two weeks off from her appointments, and they start up again next week. Her speech has improved greatly, and we are working daily on her sounds, alphabet and numbers. She'll get there, I know she has it, just needs to pay attention to what she's doing. She gets so excited sometimes that her words turn into a big mumble jumble. I'm so proud of how far she's come from a year ago though. My little pumpkin.
I've been blogging for Geeks and Geeklets as well, in my LOA from blogging here on my own blog. I've been posting recipes, book reviews, etc. I enjoy it and love the Geeks and Geeklets community. Head over and check them out. There's plenty for geeks, all around.
I have gotten back into reading lately, and didn't realize how much I missed it, until I started taking a book to work during my breaks. I'm currently reading Kushiel's Dart ( one of my close friends favourite series ) so I thought I'd give it a try. I finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, and have a list of others I can't wait to start, Including : MaddAddam, The Hunger Games ( guilty pleasure), NeverNight, Throne of Glass, Why Not Me?, Furiously Happy, and more. What books are you currently enjoying?
Legion has been released, so I have been leveling and gearing my main toon in World of Warcraft. This Sunday and Monday that just passed was our first night back to the raiding grind with my guild, in the Emerald Nightmare. I'm currently loving this expansion, it's so pretty and there are endless things to do.
What have you guys been up to the last couple of months? Anyone else playing Legion and loving/ hating it? Thoughts?

Head and Shoulders Instant Cooling Relief Review - BzzAgent
I was lucky enough to receive full sized samples of Head and Shoulders Instant Cooling Relief Shampoo & Conditioner from BzzAgent. #GotItFree . I choose this one, because during the winter months, my scalp gets itchy and and little warmer than usual and that pesky dandruff comes back. The other choices were : Instant Hydration Shampoo & Conditioner or Instant Oil Control Shampoo.
I figured the Cooling relief would come in handy and I love the smell of mint. So the Head and Shoulders Cooling relief promises to:
" cools on contact, delivering relief from itching in a snap. The combo is formulated with peppermint oil and tea tree essence and keeps hair visibly flake free*. They’re gentle enough for everyday use, even on colour or chemically treated hair. *With regular use"
I don't usually use Head and Shoulders for the simple fact that it usually makes my colour fade, and fast. My husband uses it, regularly and it works wonders for him. I was excited to receive this product and test it out. I use it twice a week now. Both the shampoo and conditioner. I LOVE the scent of them. The Peppermint and Tea tree are really noticeable, but not overpowering. I started to notice results probably after 2 uses, which impressed me. Every time I use it, I leave it on my hair for a couple of minutes. Works wonders to keep the pesky flakes at bay.
My only complaint, would be that for MY hair, I feel like the conditioner doesn't moisturize and kind of leaves it feeling dry afterwards, so I do mix in some of my regular conditioner with the Head and Shoulders, just so my hair doesn't feel dry afterwards. Otherwise I like this product a lot. It leaves my scalp feeling cool and smelling like peppermint, and so far I don't have dandruff anymore.! I will definitely be keeping this product in my hair care routine to keep dandruff away for good. It also helps that it's available at all Shoppers Drug Marts around me.
Overall this product does the job it says it will. For me and my husband at least. It gets rid of our dandruff and leaves my scalp feeling fresh and cool. Thumbs up for Head and Shoulders Cooling Relief Shampoo and Conditioner and a huge shout out to BzzAgent and Shoppers Drug Mart.

L’Oréal Paris Hydra-Total 5 Ultra-Soothing REVIEW.
About a month ago I received the L'Oreal Paris Hydra-Total 5 Ultra-Soothing skin care routine products in the mail to try and review. I was hesitant at the beginning to try these products due to the fact that I have very sensitive skin. Most products either dry my skin out severely or make it break out. #BeyondHydration #5Works
They are in order in the picture above. As follows 1.Ultra Soothing Micellar Water. 2.Ulra Soothing Toner. 3. Ultra Soothing Moisturizer.
Micellar Water:
Alright so this product states that it :Removes Make-up, Softens, Illuminates, is easy to apply and irritation free. Are all of these true?
It definitely removes make-up. Multiple times I have done my foundation and the whole works... come home and put some of the micellar water on a cotton make up pad and wipe all my makeup off. No water needed. It does soften my skin. It makes my skin feel super soft and clean. It's easy toapply and it does NOT irritate my skin. I use it every day and I love it.
The downside to the micellar water ( keep in mind this might just be me ) but I find after a while it has an odd smell to it. Anyone else notice this?
Ultra Soothing Toner:
It claims " It removes impurities and leaves skin perfectly toned and soft to the touch"
The toner is probably by far my favourite toner I have ever used. It's gentle, it smells great and it has a somewhat cooling effect to my face. It is a soft gel consistency, and goes on smooth with a cotton ball. This also leaves my skin feeling soft. Thumbs up for this L'Oreal. I use this every day as well.
Ultra Soothing Moisturizer:
"Non greasy formula with omegas and ceramides, provides 24 hour moisture.Soothes, replenishes, softens and comforts skin, for softer and more supple looking skin."
The moisturizer is probably my second fav out of this trio. I don't need that much of the product, only about a nickel amount. It doesn't make my hair feel greasy in the slightest and it has a great scent to it. It's light and keeps my face moisturized the whole day.
Overall I'm very impressed with these products from L'Oreal. They are gentle on the skin and leave my face feeling super soft, without the breakouts. It is my only skin care routine now. Once I use these products up, I'll be repurchasing them for sure.
"I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone!
I can't believe it's 2016 already! 2015 flew by. Christmas 2015 was great! Our daughter was surrounded by family the whole time and I actually got to enjoy 4 whole days off, it was fantastic.
On January 3rd our little girl turned 3. We just had a small get together with close family with cake and gifts. Needless to say the holidays were exhausting for her, because there was so much going on pretty much every day. There were a couple of meltdowns... We all enjoyed it though, and it was a much needed little break.
I had every intention of getting this post out on the 1st... I really did, but because of Christmas my work schedule has been all over the place. It's finally starting to go back to my normal days.
This will be my New Year's resolutions, I know, I'm sure everyone is doing them, and eventually a lot of us fall off the wagon and don't stick to it. I'm going to try my darnedest to stick to it this year!
First resolution: is to Be a better mom. Sometimes I get so wrapped up with work and always having errands to do on my few days off, that I forget to sit down and just enjoy my daughters company. This year I'm going to give her all the attention I possibly can, and stuff at work can wait.
Second: I'm going to start taking a step back and not get so worried about things. (Try not to anyways.) I'm going to try to relax when I am home and just enjoy the day off with my daughter and husband.
Third: I'm going to blog more! Yes that's right, put more posts out, do more giveaways, all the good stuff. I actually have a giveaway planned to start up in a couple of days! So keep your eyes out.
Fourth: I'm going to get back to eating healthier and working out. I did so good last year up until about July, and then I went back to snacking on crap snacks and didn't do it in moderation. Which left me feeling tired all the time.
Fifth: I'm going to read more. I have a stack of books that I have just set aside and it's driving me crazy, I'm going to finish them and many more this year.
So here's to a new year! What are your New Year's Resolutions?

My Favourite Podcasts.
With the holidays approaching super fast, I realized that I haven't sat down and taken time for my blog. I've been busy working and planning an upcoming giveaway. For now I thought I'd post my favourite podcasts and the links to them for everyone to give a listen too.
I love these equally and try to listen to every episode.
I'll also link their twitter handles and websites for everyone.
FrozeNerdz :@FrozeNerdz . Go and chill with @Epic_Insanity and @KilroyKT for Blizzard entertainment news and discussions. These guys are great! They are down to earth and they pick up every topic of delicious Blizzard news to feed to us. Epic also does a podcast for us Death Knight players out there called Knights of Ebon, you can follow that podcast @KnightsOfEbon . One of my favourite things about their episodes is the Ice Box , where you can e-mail/ tweet questions to them and they will answer your questions on the episode.Plus if you love beards you should check them out ;)
Chicsthatclick : @chicsthatclick is hosted by @Jaygurrl and @Esmeralda_sky . It is a World of Warcraft Blizzard pod cast. Also with discussions on ARK and other games. I love how funny these women are, and always look forward to hearing their next episode. They also do this great #HPTurnin, where you can give a shout out to someone you think deserves it. :)
My next one isn't a podcast; however they have an awesome site and I do blog for them as well on occasion. Geeks and Geeklets is an adventure guide for geeky parents. They have everything, from game reviews, to blog posts about games/parenting/ life in general, book and movie reviews, recipes... you name it. You can follow them on Twitter @GGeeklets
This next one deserves a shout out, because maybe with enough followers they will release their episodes @slashyellcast Hosted by My husband : @Myrothvel3 , @LVX441, and @JHuntermage
These are my top ones. I hope you all check them out and give them a listen, I guarantee you'll enjoy them as much as I do!
