Mini Mommy Breakdown

Ever have one of those days... or weeks, where everything that can go wrong will? Or one of those weeks where all the little things add up and lead to a boil over of emotions/ frustration? Yeah, that's what my week was like. Everything wasn't going horribly wrong, it was just a ton of little things added up, that sent me into my mini mommy meltdown.
It started off on Monday morning, I was checking my e-mails and having my morning coffee, while my little munchkin was playing with her toys and turtle walker. I finished all of my e-mails and then I realized that it had been very quiet for the past 10 minutes and not once had my daughter came up to me wanting to be picked up. What's that saying.. " whenever it gets quiet with a toddler, you know somethings up?".
I then felt a tiny tug at my shirt, and turned around to pick her up. I noticed a greasy feeling substance on my shirt and her hands, legs and in her hair. I go and look to see what she had gotten into and this is what I found.

She had gotten into the Vaseline that was on her change table. She'd never gotten into it before ( never shown an interest ) so I figured it was fine there. Monday showed me that in fact it's not a safe spot. I looked around and she had it on a bunch of her clothes, the floor, the garbage, her high chair legs and the bottom of the crib. So I scooped her back up and off to the bathroom we went. I figured that I'd conquer the mess after she was cleaned up.
After she was all clean, we continued to put a diaper and clothes on. I bent down to pick up some clothes off the floor that were covered in Vaseline and what does she start doing? Throwing diapers at me and giggling uncontrollably. It was funny and cute, until she took the basket that they were in and started waving it around, and caught me in the face with it.
All fun and games until someone gets hurt.
I put her in the crib and put all of her Vaseline covered clothes in the hamper, wiped everything off with wipes and towels and put the Vaseline up in the closet in what I think is a safe spot for now, that is.

Later that day, I made a small Starbuck's Mocha flavored coffee and while I was feeding her in the  high chair,  I was planning on drinking my coffee.  Ha! Not for this momma. While I was attempting to open a jar of baby food, she reached over, grabbed my coffee and whipped it to the floor.  I was less than pleased.
Around supper time, our little munchkin decided to take my water bottle, that she recently learned how to drink out of, and squirt it all over the floor. So when I went to sit down and play with her and her activity center I sat in a puddle of water, and was soaked. ( Better than slipping in it. )

Tuesday rolled around and our daughter who has been incredibly clingy since teething started, has amplified her clingy ways. I didn't think that was possible.... but it is. She now will not take naps unless I lay her in my arms. I attempt to put her in the crib or go do things that need to be done and she instantly pops an eye open and looks at me like " where do you think you're going momma?". If I don't go back and hold her, she cries until I do. It wouldn't be as frustrating as it is, if my husband didn't work away during the week. Which makes it hard for me to have any time for anything now a days. How do you tell a little one that though?

Wednesday and Thursday involved me trying to figure out Christmas gifts for her first Christmas, which is followed by her one year birthday a week later. I found a bunch of gifts that I want to get her. Split them up, half for Christmas and half for her birthday, and started doing the number crunching..... then started getting more frustrated.. " how are we going to pull this off?, and "I'm going back to work full- time so we can buy everything we need/ want for her." Which then brought up the "Daycare", blah, blah, blah. Friday was more of the same, until our little one wouldn't even give me 5 minutes to have a shower ( first one all week ) without crying hysterically. Oh yeah and did I mention that at night she refuses to sleep in the crib now. She falls asleep in my arms and as soon as I put her in the crib she wakes up and cries, and cries. I've tried the "cry it out" method... it doesn't work. She just gets to the point to where she is hyperventilating and makes me feel like a horrible mother. She's also been doing what we call the "Sleepy dance" at night; however she does it from 1-3 am too and then is up and ready to go at 5 am.
So all the little things piled up, and the trying to plan Christmas and her first birthday and the food and cake, and attempting to figure out how financially we can make it work..... I had my mini mommy breakdown. I just sat down and cried... for a good 45 minutes. ( Which reminds me I was lucky enough to get a copy of Mother of All Meltdowns ( from Mommifried ) to read and review, and that will be posted as soon as I get the time to finish reading it. The stories in that book make me feel better about my mini meltdown. )
After I got that out, I felt a bit better. When my husband got home at 930pm, I felt even better.
After this week, I realized that our little one is officially reaching toddler status... where did the time go? I'm not ready for her to be a toddler.
How do you guys make ends meet for holidays and birthdays? I'd love to know.

One Year Marriage Anniversary

This entry is long overdue, but here it is. Our One year wedding anniversary! It was October 31st, but we have had so much going on lately, that I haven't had too much time to write a proper entry.
It was not only our anniversary but our daughter's first Halloween. ( We ended up getting her a pink bunny costume, for her first one.)
My husband worked during the day as per usual and after we bought her costume. She was so darn cute in it. Eventually she got mad at us because it was warm and a bit too long on her. Priceless!

We were going to go to Olive Garden for dinner ( husband wanted to take me there ) but I figured let's just go somewhere that we can take our munchkin and be comfortable. We went to dinner, us three. We ended up going to Red Robin, and started off with Mozza sticks ( Amazing ), I ended up getting a chicken burger and my husband got some kind of Whiskey Burger. My drink.... I couldn't resist, it being Halloween and all..... I ordered A Screaming Red Zombie. It was so good. :)

For dessert I ended up getting their chocolate lava cake, with strawberries and vanilla ice cream. It was perfect. Especially since our anniversary, it was raining and cold out.

After dinner we took our little one to my brother in-laws house and they watched her for a couple of hours. My husband and I went and got our Horde tattoos done. What better way to mark our One Year Anniversary than with the one thing that brought us together. ( For those of you who don't know, Horde is a faction in the game World of Warcraft... yes we met on WoW years ago. )

I LOVE them. They turned out really good. We ended up getting home around 1 am, so we were exhausted the next morning... but it was completely worth it. We had a great one year anniversary out, and first Halloween with our little one. Next year will be her first year trick or treating, which I can't wait for.!
The past year has had some ups and downs due to post partum and some family members... but I wouldn't change it for anything. It has been the first year of many to come, married to my best friend and only love, it has been one heck of a year and I can't wait for all the new memories to come with you and our munchkin.

Dr. Scholl's For Her Cozy Cushions

I was lucky enough to receive the Rose Voxbox from Influenster a couple of weeks ago. :)
Which included the Dr.Scholl's For Her Cozy Cushions inserts!
I was super excited to try these out. I have never tried any Dr.Scholl's products, however when I opened the box and looked at these, they instantly looked extremely comfortable.
I have not been disappointed.
The overview of them says:
  • Helps keep feet warm and dry
  • Multi-layer design insulates against cold and dampness while absorbing perspiration
  • Provides all-day comfort and support good for any season
  • Adds renewed comfort to your footwear
  • Works great in any boot or casual shoe
I agree with all these statements listed. They are extremely soft and cushioned, and nice and warm. I was skeptical at first on if they'd fit into my size 7 ladies Puma shoes.  Puma's are slimmer shoes; but they fit! A little snug at first, but better now.
They definitely help with the cold and dampness, especially since if I step in any water, it almost instantly goes through my beloved Puma shoes.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with these inserts, and I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara

I was lucky enough to get to try out Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara. I don't usually buy the big mascara's, as they can be pricey and I find that most of them tend to clump ( no matter what their promise is.)
I have to say, that I was hesitant to try this mascara. Then I tried it. Let me just say, that I was instantly impressed. It has a larger brush, that is shaped like an hour glass to hug the lash line, and to really make your eyes pop. It's inspired by the 60's, and best of all..... it doesn't clump! It's also waterproof, but isn't hard to wash off at the end of the day.

I am a mom to a 10 month old little girl, so I don't have much time to set aside for makeup application. With this new mascara; however, I can just do my foundation and then apply some of Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, to make my eyes pop, or to just look more awake. I will definitely be recommending this product and using it all the time. It has found a permanent place in my makeup bag.

10 Month Update

Mommy Monday Blog Hop Our little munchkin is 10 months old tomorrow! Oh my gosh,... I still can't believe it. I'm sure every parent says that. Let's get on with it.

Height/Weight: Our little one is 25lbs now, and is wearing size 3 ( sometimes size 4 ) diapers, but it depends on the brand.

Clothes Size: She is wearing 12-18 month pants, shirts and sweaters, and sleepers ( she's really tall ). 12 months in onsies.

Sleeping: She wakes up 1-2 times during the night for a full 250ml bottle and a diaper change, then will go right back to sleep. Since she's been teething, in order for us to get some sleep, we have been letting her co-sleep with us. She seems to sleep much better.

Eating:  She will have about 4 bottles during the day, 2 at night. Z enjoys all different types of baby cereal, Cheerios, apples, she also loves the Gerber vanilla bites., and the cinnamon maple finger snacks. As well as the apple wheels and ranch bites. She seems to enjoy food we eat much more than baby food, and most times I don't blame her.The regular foods that she will eat are: grilled cheese, mac and cheese, bananas, pasta, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, muffins, mashed potatoes, ( she's tried chicken and beef with gravy ), and we are introducing her to foods a couple of times during the week.

Milestones: She officially has her first tooth! It FINALLY cut through mid October.
- She crawls super fast and all the time now
-Stood on the floor by herself
-Dances to music
-Claps and waves to people

That is the main stuff that I can think of at the moment. She is so amazing, and surprises us every single day
( She also had her first Halloween the other day, and we dressed her up as a pink bunny, it was so freaking adorable.).

Almost 8 month update.

Mommy Monday Blog Hop
Next week, our little one is 8 months old. I can't believe how big she is getting. I haven't updated in a while, so I figured that I would do an update on our munchkin's routine, milestones, etc.

Routine: Our day usually starts around 4:30-5am. She will play in her excer saucer for about an hour, while I check e-mails.
Around 6-8am, she'll have a bottle and some baby cereal, then play in her jumper roo for a while.
On days it's nice out ( not too hot ) I'll take her for a half hour walk in her stroller. ( she loves going for rides), if it's humid and muggy outside, we'll go outside and she'll sit in her swing, while I attempt some homework.
When she starts getting ready for her nap, usually sometime around 11am I'll feed her a bottle and she will usually have it in her bouncy chair.
During this time I'll make my breakfast/lunch.
The rest of the afternoon, consists of us doing what she is interested in.
I'll read to her, she'll scoot around in her walker, tearing up the room lol.
She is also starting to enjoy playing in her crib for a while, which I am not complaining about. I use that time to clean up a bit.
She will usually go down for the night between 5-7pm.

Height/ Weight: Her last doctor's appointment, she was in the 95th percentile for height. She's tall! Her weight was 17.5 lbs, that was about a month ago. I'd say she's easily 19/20 lbs now. She's growing so darn fast.

Sizes: For onsies, she is fitting in sizes 6-9 months. Sleepers are 12 months size ( she's long ).

Sleeping: She still isn't sleeping through the night. She'll wake up maybe 2-3 times throughout. I think lately her teeth have been bothering her. ( still doesn't have any, but they are right there! ) I'll change her and she'll drink a 250ml bottle, then go right back to sleep.

Eating: She'll still have about 5-7 bottles a day. She eats baby cereal twice a day and baby food in the morning and afternoon. Foods she's eating are :Bananas, Applesauce, Strawberries, Rice, Oatmeal and Oatmeal/ Banana cereal, Peas, Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans ( however she isn't a fan of them ), regular bananas, and we have the pouches of baby food to try this week. She's also becoming more interested in regular food. We are excited to start that.

Milestones:
- She is sitting up on her own now.
- Saying the words "dadda, bubba and doo doo"
- Just yesterday she stood on her own in her crib. She hasn't stopped since. :) She's soon going to be walking, she gets so frustrated when she isn't mobile.
- She pulls movies and books off of shelves and will play with them for a long time.
- She let's us know when she wants food and not a bottle.
- She loves scooting around in her walker, and will follow us around, with a big smile on her face.
- Still no teeth, however they are right there! We can see them, they just need to pop through.

She is growing so fast, and it's hard to believe that in a week she will be 8 months old. :( Where does the time go?

Best feeling ever......

I think is that moment your baby wraps their tiny hands around your finger. I realized this months ago, but I never truly thought about it until this week.
I'm a first time mom, everything is new to me, and honestly I'm terrified of messing up. Lately I've been having some down days, when everything seems to pile up, or be too overwhelming, then I look at our daughter and her smile brightens the whole day for me. She lights up and I light up.
She's 6 months old, and sitting on her own and trying to crawl. I look at her and think " They are right, they really do grow up fast, I wish she could stay this size for just a while longer."
This really hit me the other day when I went out to do my weekly grocery/errands, I had my mom watch her for the couple of hours that I was out. I came home and as soon as she heard my voice, she turned herself around in her jolly jumper, got the biggest smile on her adorable little face and started laughing excitedly, all while reaching up for me.... can I just say, I almost burst into tears. I can't begin to describe the feeling of joy that overcame me. Just knowing that our daughter is happy to have me home.
( I think my worrying started when I wasn't able to continue breastfeeding ( I wasn't producing enough), I felt that our bond would become weaker. :/ ) I'm a first time mom, I didn't say all of my thoughts would be logical.
She also has been snuggling into my chest when she meets someone new, and I've been reading in a book I received this month that, our children do that because we are their "safe place". It's an odd but wonderful feeling to know that I'm my daughters "safe place". She's the same way with my husband ( her father ), big time daddy's girl ( her first word was DADDA ), everyone says he's wrapped around her finger already.
I guess this week I just kind of realized that being a parent is an AMAZING feeling. Knowing that our little girl wants us to comfort her when she needs it.
Recently she's been waking up at night, she doesn't want a bottle or anything, she just wants one of us to hold her and rock her back to sleep.
She never ceases to amaze me, and she melts my heart over and over again with all the new things she's doing and learning. Sometimes it's still hard to believe that I'm a mom and wife.
Best feeling ever.

Busy couple of weeks.

I haven't much time to update lately, which is why my box reviews have been behind. The last couple of weeks, have been interesting. Our little one is 6 months old, and she just finished getting over a viral infection. She had a rash all over her body, looked tired all the time and wasn't eating as much. No we didn't change anything with her. Everything including laundry detergent has been the same. Dr was unsure of what caused it and wasn't sure what exactly it was. Didn't make me feel very confident with the health care we received for her. We were told to just wait it out. Which is what we did. Thankfully she seems to be over it. I missed my happy, smiling all the time baby. She's now sitting up on her own, and trying to crawl! I just want to hold her and keep her at this age for a little while longer.

I picked up a  side job, it's only for 4 hours on Saturdays and it's a bit of extra money, which is nice. Only until the end of this month though.
Little *complaining* part. You've been warned.
It's been super humid out lately, and it sucks. I hate humidity. Especially since lately I've been feeling emotionally out of sync.
Everything seems to be agitating me within the last week or so. The other night I snapped at my husband over nothing, he didn't deserve it and I feel horrible for taking whatever frustration I have out on him for no good reason. Maybe it's lack of sleep, or .... I just don't know. Before anyone suggests, No I'm NOT pregnant.
Maybe it's because lately I just feel like I never get any ME time. I know I'm a mother and all my time I invest in our little one. Which is fine, I LOVE being a mommy, and I love spending my time with our little one. I  would just like a couple of hours at night to myself, I guess. By the time night rolls around and I have an hour or so to read to myself, I'm too exhausted to even pick up one of the few books I've started, so I usually end up going to bed early.
Any other parents out there feel this way? How do you get energy to give yourself some "you" time? I feel like I'm running on coffee, so to speak.
Am I the only one?

June Bluum Box- 6 month old Review

This is our second month for receiving  the Bluum Baby box. It's a box filled with things for your baby, they are gender specific and it goes by the age of your baby.
Our June box was for our 6 month old baby girl.
The theme was Tiny Chompers!

This box was perfect timing, since our little one is teething, and those stubborn teeth still haven't made their grand appearance yet.

The first item I pulled out is the Siliconies bracelet from Family Bedrock.
It's a teething bracelet for our little one, we wear it and she sucks on it. Which will come in handy for outings. We also received a 20% coupon to use on their website.

The next thing was this high contrast book Hello Baby
It is full of black and white designs for baby, plus has the teething rattle ears at the top. Our daughter LOVES this book. She chews it like crazy.

These are baby sunglasses, by Kidz Banz. I like the idea of them, because they have a band that goes around our little ones head, it's adjustable and is soft. Very interested to try these out, since all other sun glasses she pulls off her face.

Not sure how much use we'll have for this, but it's practical. The Dreambaby Bath Tub Thermometer.
It's good to have, but honestly we go by feeling the temperature of the water for bath time now.
This I LOVE. Weleda baby Calendula Diaper Care for diaper rash.
It's natural and smells minty. It's amazing, we will definitely be buying more of it. I have never tried this product until we received it and honestly I've never even heard of this brand before.

Next is the Camilia Teething Relief.
So far we haven't tried any teething gels for her teething, we've only been using baby Tylenol and Gripe Water. These are homeopathic and come in single doses, which I really like.
We haven't tried this yet, but will when we can. I wasn't aware of homeopathic teething remedies.
Guess I should have done my research.
The last thing in the box was this book. Brain Rules for Baby by John Medina.
Before now I've never heard of this author or book for that matter. My husband and I both read A lot though, so this is perfect. It's full of some pretty interesting things, and what I love about it so far, is he gives examples of most situations.

We were happy with our June box of Bluum for our little munchkin. We anxiously away our July box.

June Glossybox Review

This entry is late, but here goes.
June's Glossybox.
This month's box was the American Beauty one. I love the box it came in.

June's magazine that the boxes always come with.
The information card as well.

When I first opened June's box I was excited. I saw products that I will actually use!
First product I pulled out was SpaRitual Favorites Nail Polish
Full size $12.00/ 15 ml.
I'm not usually into wearing purple on my nails that often; however I do love this color. It's a nice glossy, dark purple. I'm in love.
Philip B. Light Weight Deep Conditioning Creme
The price for this was not included on the information card.
However I looked it up and a 2 fl oz/ 60 ml is $10.00, 6 fl oz / 178 ml $26.00, and 32 oz fl/ 947ml $90.
I love the smell of this conditioning creme, it's not too strong, and is refreshing ( I think so anyways ). It's not heavy, and doesn't make my hair feel greasy afterwards at all, which I'm a huge fan of!

Tarte Complexion Enhancing Lipstick
Full size $14.50/ .12oz
Now I don't usually wear lipstick, I 'm more of a lip gloss kind of woman. When I tried this lipstick though, and realized that I could  blend the two colors together, I was excited to wear it on an outing. I loved the color on me, and it lasted for most of the day, when I did go out. This lipstick has made me a fan, and I will definitely be buying more.
Oscar de la Renta Essential Luxuries
 Full size $150.00 / 3.4 fl oz
I don't personally use Oscar de la Renta perfume, I find it's too strong for me to wear; however I found one out of these 6 sample sizes that is kind of a girly/ fruit perfume that I actually like. It lasts all day and smells pretty awesome. I won't be buying the full size ones though, I just can't bring myself to pay that much for perfume.
The last product is c. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist
Full Size $8.00/ 4 fl oz
I was unsure of this product at first. You spray it on your face or body for a refreshing glow. I tried it and I completely fell in love with it. I absolutely love the smell, it's fresh and light and feels nice on my skin. Once I use it up, I will be purchasing another one that's for sure.
Overall I was very happy with June's Glossybox. It was a good one for me. I apologize for my review of it being so late, but here it is. Enjoy!

June Beauty Box 5 Review

I signed up for Beauty Box 5 at the end of April. So far I haven't really liked the boxes. They come with some pretty decent things, but this subscription just is not for me. I was not impressed with the May box, not only was the box late, the contents didn't WOW me. Unfortunately this month didn't WOW me, and I don't like receiving self tanning stuff or body bronzer.... just isn't my thing. I unsubscribed as I'm just not happy with the boxes. Anyways, what isn't for one person may be for another. This subscription just isn't for me.
The people who are interested in this subscription... read on!

The Box:  Beauty Box 5

The Cost: $12 a month (or $10 a month with a 3-month subscription)

The Products: 4-5 full size and sample size beauty products.
Every box includes these cards, with descriptions of products, and prices. They also include the coupons for each product to use on their website.
Coolway Cool Cleanse Shampoo and Cool Hydrate Conditioner
Retail: $25.00 8.6 oz.
I'm excited to try these out, as I usually have one or two hair products open at all times in the shower. I wasn't very impressed with the Coolway Transform Styling Spray from May's box ( It made my hair feel super greasy and I only used the recommended sprays); however I'm willing to give it a second chance. It smells good so far.
Just Being Sexy Body Bronzer
Retail: $49.00 6fl oz
(I got two packets in this box)
I'm a red head, I don't tan, I don't use self tanning products either. I personally just don't like them. I don't like using body bronzer either, so I was disappointed to see these in this month's box. ( May box had self tan wipes )
I have to say I honestly won't use these. Probably going to give them away.
Shea Terra Organics Rose Hips Black Soap Facial
Retail: $18.00 4 oz
This product I'm actually really excited for, I have sensitive skin so finding natural products is always a bonus for me. If I like this I will most definitely buy the full size version of it.

The last item in June's box was the Minxxette Brush Hanger
Retail: $4.69 Small
I think that this is a very cute idea and great for organization of makeup brushes.

This subscription isn't for me. However it is affordable and sometimes they have interesting things. If they come out with some products that interest me I may just sign back up for the subscription.
Do you have Beauty Box 5? Opinions on it? What did you think of June's box?

Homemade Teething Cookies

In a previous post I shared that our 5 month old was teething. Tomorrow she will be 6 months and the last couple of days her teething has really kicked into gear. She has a teething rash, very irritable, and is waking 6-7 times during the night, when regularly she wakes up once during the night. I have tried everything except teething cookies. So I found a recipe and yesterday decided to bake some.
This was the first batch, the recipe says to leave in for 15 minutes but 10 would have been fine.
I put half of them in the freezer and half in the fridge. So far they have been good, and our daughter loves sucking on them. I also doubled the recipe.

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1 cup dry infant rice cereal  (or other flavored or
unflavored infant cereal)
3 tablespoons cooking oil
1 ripe smashed banana
1 teaspoon cinnamon
ice water

Directions:
Preheat oven 425F
Mix flour and cereal and cinnamon.
Gradually stir in oil. Mix a little ice water at a time (start with 1/4 cup) until dough begins to form a ball and pull away from the bowl.
Roll out to the thickness of a cracker on a floured surface and cut into desired shapes.
Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet 10-12 min. or until lightly brown. Cool completely.

Store in an airtight container. (you may want to try 1/2 plain and 1/2 flavored baby cereal as the taste when using full flavored baby cereal is very strong.)

First Word!

On Wednesday our daughter said her FIRST WORD! I was changing her on the change table and she clear as day said " Dadda " I was so happy! She kept saying it, then of course when I got my phone to record her saying it to send to my husband ( he was at work ) she stopped. So later on Wednesday she kept saying it, I taped it and sent it to him. My husband is over the moon happy! I can't believe it, our 5 and a half month old baby girl said her first word. I am one very proud mama. To top it off, she slept from 5pm Wednesday night to 5am Thursday morning! It was so nice getting that extra sleep. She must have tired herself out.
Last night she only woke up once at 2:30am, then again for the day at 6am, and wait for it..... she had a two hour nap this afternoon. Great week! She has been talking up a storm since saying "dadda", which we love. Father's Day was a success. I ended up getting my husband a card, and mug ( which I put our daughter's hand print and foot print on with glittery paint, and "Dad" across it, with the year on the bottom, plus the new Dan Brown book Inferno. He loved it. By the way Happy Belated Father's Day to all you father's out there and moms who are pulling double duty.
My husbands 28th birthday is on Tuesday. I have ordered him something, but it hasn't come in the mail yet :/.  Hopefully it gets here soon. I will post pictures of everything after.
Other than that, I just wanted to brag a little bit. Our daughter said her FIRST WORD!!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

Last minute running around.

This weekend is my husbands first Father's Day, so I want to make it special, like he did for my Mother's Day. So today I have a bunch of last minute shopping to do, to finish his gift that I'm making. ( I will post pictures after I give him his surprise on Sunday. :) ) I also had a friend crochet my daughter, husband and I Monster beanies, and Horde beanies. ( those of you who know WoW, will understand, lol ) Like I've said a couple of times, I am a geek at heart. <3. I also ordered Little Caesar's pizza and breadstick kits, I'm excited to try those out tomorrow afternoon for lunch.
Those of you who read my previous entry, know that our daughter is teething. She has been started on baby food as well.  We are now on fruits, but because she is so independent and gets mad when she can't do things on her own, and she has also jumped right to doing the chewing motion, and holding things on her own, my husband and I discussed LED weaning. We have decided that, that's the route we are going to take with our daughter. What is LED weaning?   Baby-led weaning allows babies to control their solid food consumption by "self-feeding" from the very beginning of their experiences with food. The term weaning should not be taken to imply giving up formula or breastmilk, but simply the introduction of foods other than formula or breastmilk.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby-led_weaning) Basically instead of mushy baby food, we will be giving her normal food. ( cooked so it's soft enough to be edible and not a choking hazard  obviously.) Zoey seems to thrive when she does things on her own. She gets annoyed with us when we do stuff for her, almost like we're doing it too slow for her liking or something. There are a couple of LED weaning books/cookbooks that I'm going to purchase for meal ideas. We're excited. Hopefully our little one  is too. :)
She is fully rolling over now, and sleeping in her crib, which is awesome, and the past week she has been pushing herself up. Over this weekend she has pretty much sat up on her own as well and has been making "GG," and "da" sounds. I swear our kid is going to start talking soon * fingers crossed*. Wouldn't it be perfect if she said "dadda" for Father's Day?
Being as our little munchkin wakes up more throughout the night now, I have been feeling like a zombie. I have little to NO energy, and can't concentrate on anything. I stumbled across a blog last week and the woman described something that I completely related to. She calls it:
MUDD- Motherhood Unintentional Distraction Disorder. Feeling 'scatter brained', 'zoning out', etc. I can  relate 100%. I completely zone out on things that don't really interest me, or if I'm just too tired to listen I'm guilty of tuning stuff out,  I can't super multi-task like I used to be able to. I feel like I'm losing my mind or going crazy.  I can't wait until the day that she will sit in her crib and play with her toys. It will be super nice to be able to do some laundry or take out the garbage. Lately because I've been so exhausted, I just leave everything until the weekend, and my husband being the amazing man that he is, will take care of it. I feel like I'm losing my mind, but if it wasn't for him I would have lost it a long time ago.I'm not trying to complain, it's just how I've felt lately.... it will pass. On the rare occasion I get a burst of energy, which I love.
I think today I may touch up my hair, I did last month, but my roots are showing terribly and it may be the little pick me up that I need.
For all you moms out there that can do everything and still have energy to spare, I salute you! Share some tips please lol, they would be greatly appreciated. What do you do for a pick me up/ mommy time?
What are your plans for Father's Day this weekend?

Teething little one.

It's official our 5 month old little girl is teething. She is extremely irritable randomly throughout the day, and is waking up 3-4 times a night when usually she only wakes up once. It's been a long two weeks and I've felt like pulling my hair out on numerous occasions. I've been looking up remedies for teething. This is what I've found.:
Teething Tips for soothing sore gums:
1. Rub your baby's gums. Use a clean finger, moistened gauze pad or damp washcloth to massage your baby's gums. The pressure can ease your baby's discomfort.

2. Offer a teething ring. Try one made of firm rubber. The liquid-filled variety might break under the pressure of your baby's chewing. If a bottle seems to do the trick, fill it with water. Prolonged contact with sugar from formula, milk or juice contributes to tooth decay.

3. Keep it cool. A cold washcloth or chilled teething ring can be soothing on a baby's gums. Don't give your baby a frozen teething ring, however. Contact with extreme cold can be harmful.

4. Try hard foods. If your baby is eating solid foods, you might offer something edible for gnawing — such as a peeled and chilled cucumber or carrot, frozen bagel, frozen banana. Keep a close eye on your baby, however. Any pieces that break off might pose a choking hazard.

5. Dry the drool. Excessive drooling is part of the teething process. To prevent skin irritation, keep a clean cloth handy to dry your baby's chin.

6. Try an over-the-counter remedy. If your baby is especially cranky, acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) might help. Avoid teething medications that contain the pain reliever benzocaine. Benzocaine products have been associated with methemoglobinemia — a rare but serious condition that reduces the amount of oxygen in the blood.

7. I've also heard that Gripe Water can help with teething.

8. You might find success with the variety of available homeopathic options. Melt away teething tablets, Camilia, Chamomilla, or Aconite drops help reduce swelling and relieve irritability.

9. If you want natural : There are countless, safe and effective home treatments you can employ. For example, you can soothe those nerve endings by rubbing a slice of peeled ginger root on your baby’s gums. Other natural remedies include: ground cloves or allspice mixed with water to form into a paste, clove oil, or natural vanilla or almond extracts applied to gums with a cotton swab.

If anyone else has any tips or tricks that you've used, feel free to comment.Any suggestions are more than welcome :).

My husband knows I've been having a hard time, especially last night, so he sent me these :

It made my morning that much better seeing these. I'm a geek at heart. <3

May's Glossybox

The second box I signed up for was the Glossybox. When I received it they had a card in there since it's their 1 year anniversary in the States.

This is my first Glossybox. I'm still getting used to doing some type of reviews, so bare with me please. I'll post the picture then the price, and underneath I'll post my thoughts, likes, dislikes, etc about the product.
The first product I pulled out is the Xtreme Lashes GlideLiner Long Lasting Eye Pencil along with the sharpener that goes with it. Full size: $29.00/ .04OZ. I don't usually like pencil type eyeliners; however this eyeliner literally glided on. It wasn't sharp, I didn't have to go over certain spots, it went on smooth and lasted the whole day. I really like this eyeliner, and even though it's a bit pricier I will be purchasing it once I use this one all up. Very happy with this product.

This is Epionce Intense Defense Anti-Aging + Repair Serum. Full  size: $136.00/ 30ML. I just turned 25 on Sunday, and I was already having a slight panic attack thinking "OMG I'm old." Then I got this in my Glossybox. I'm not one for anti aging products, not saying I don't like them, I just don't prefer using them at this time. I have to honestly say that I would never buy this, I'm a mom, if I'm going to spend that type of money on a product it will be a product for my child.
The next product was this Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray. Full Size: $19.95/ 5.07 FL OZ. I tried it, and I do like it; however I find the smell is more like a hairspray smell. It's supposed to add volume to your hair, I liked the feel of it. It was light and didn't make my hair feel greasy or anything. Glossybox also included a coupon in the box for a Sebastian Professional product, I may use it.
I was excited when I saw this. It's Nicka K New York Absolute! Perfume Stick. Full Size: $14.99/ .29OZ
I loved the packaging and was super excited to try it. It's basically a perfume stick type. I put it on and wasn't that impressed with the scent. The one I received smells like laundry soap. :/ I will purchase this in the future, but it will be a different scent for sure.
European Wax Center Body Wash Full Size :$20.00/ 8OZ and Slow It Body Lotion Full Size: $20.00/ 8OZ. I haven't tried them yet, but I will soon and I enjoy trying new body washes and lotion and finding favourites to buy.
The last thing I got was the Etre Belle Collagen & Aloe Vera Hydro Mask. Full Size: $39.50/ 10 Masks.
I don't usually use mask type beauty products. So I'm on the fence about this. In the packet it feels gooey for a lack of better terms.

Overall I'm happy with my Glossybox. I liked the packaging and the timely manner it was sent out in. I'm just late writing about it and uploading the pictures lol. Glossybox is $21 a month, and once you save up 1000 GlossyDots you earn a FREE Glossybox.
Sign up for Glossybox if you're interested. June's doing a special Beauty Box, which I'm excited for :).
